The horse on October’s challenge card
A small watercolour of a horse running free along the shore, and why it sits on the front of this month’s challenge.

Every challenge card has a little painting on the front. For October I painted a horse running along the shoreline, with birds lifting off into a pale sky.

Why a horse?
To me it’s a picture of energy and momentum, the feeling I want to keep hold of as the days get shorter. It pairs with the challenge on the back: a small action you can take on your way home.
Turn the card over and it asks you to pick up ten pieces of litter.
I paint each card design small, so the texture of the paper and every brushstroke shows through in the print.
